We attended our first air show this year. It was a great experience for old and young and my children thoroughly enjoyed it despite tons of walking that day !
Security lines can be very long - so plan accordingly. Also, parking is kinda crazy and some options are quite far away.
Once you enter( you may bring strollers and backpacks) you have the option of many different aircrafts to tour inside , take photos with , and speak with the men/ women who actually have flown in them.
There are food options there but let me warn you ... it’s pricey. That doesn’t mean we didn’t eat , that just means bring your cash !
The air show itself was really entertaining. (They sell earplugs on site if you feel like your kids can’t plug their own ears when needed.)

We attended the air show on the Saturday and pulled up as the gates opened. We were quickly moved through the parking line and parked. Security was very quick and the line was always moving. It was moving so well that I was able to exit to return to my vehicle and return without a day at the gates

The staff were extremely nice.

They had a lot of high end performances and a ton of ground displays.

We were very happy to see the Snowbirds in a US Air Show.

Only thing that I wish flew was the Galaxy... I know, I know, cargo plane... but it’s so neat.

The Raptor was absolutely amazing.

There was enough food/ drink stations and the only line we experienced was for one set of washrooms.

Great time. Well executed.

I went to the "AIR SHOW" today for the very first time today. I had no idea what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. The air base is HUGE. Admission is free. Everything was very well organized. A shuttle bus took us from the parking area to the event. There is so much to see and do. There are plenty of choices of food and drink. Every branch of the military is represented. I would like to go again another year.

USAF Thunderbirds, as always, put on an incredible precision flying skills demonstration. Thunderbirds are awe inspiring and totally entertaining.
The vast array of modern military aircraft on display and open for tours along with knowledgeable pilots and support personnel was both impressive and informative. Kids and adults alike were excited and proud to be able to be so up close and personal. To say the least this is an excellent recruiting tool for future generations and helps the average every day citizen taxpayer to understand what today’s military is capable of and how their taxpayer monies are invested to insure America’s future.
All branches of the US military were represented as well as some federal agencies. Show featured multiple flying demonstrations of both modern and older military aircraft.
Airshow was extremely well organized with A/C shuttle buses to remote parking, very professional and polite armed military personnel providing heavy security, and adequate toilet and food locations throughout base/show grounds.
I’ve attended many airshows over the years and I can say for sure it’s hard to top this year’s Thunder of Niagara. One minor suggestion for improvement is to have a sign/ poster for each aircraft on exhibit listing it’s type and purpose e.g.C-130 J Super Hercules Transport as well as some details on typical mission applications.

I and two of my friends went to the 2011 show -- on 9/11 -- wonderful moving tribute to the heroes.

Weather plays a huge role and the weather was perfect! Between the two of us who carried cameras, we shot over 1400 images!

Spectacular time and plan to go again.

I had VIP Tickets for Sunday and wondered around for 45 min till I found out where I was to report to for the wrist band. I talked to 7 different people starting at the point of the security check (All were very polite and nice) but no one could tell me where to go. I was offered suggestions that ranged from inside the hanger, command post display, zip line for the kids to a plane on the other side where the fire department ladder trucks were set up. We only found it by accident walking back. They took our money, and then dropped the ball from there. Will never purchase the tickets again.

I can't say enough good about the air show and the on-base support personnel for the show. The problem is getting to the show and parking. We were coming from Rochester, and all was well till we were within a few miles of the base. A sign said, "Air show take Rt. 429 to Lockport Rd." So we did, and traffic almost immediately came to a halt. We were then re-routed two more times after that. We ended up parking in the SPCA field for $5 and walking nearly 1 mi more to the base. And then you have to wait in line for the security check. From that turn on to 429 to actually getitng on to the base was nearly an hour and a half.
Police personnel did nothing to help the traffic or the parking situation; there were no police personnel directing traffic. In short, traffic and parking were very poorly handled by organizers.
Give yourself more time than you think you'll need to get there, be prepared to walk, and bring extra money because the concessions are expensive.

As an airshow enthusiast from the UK I had high hopes for this, but unfortunately due to unbelievably poor traffic control the only parts of the show I got to see were out of my car window as I waited in for OVER 3 HOURS in traffic to get into the show. Bear in mind this is coming from less than 10 miles away. I would hate to think how long people had been driving if they were coming from further away. Loads of people were just giving up after about 1.5-2hrs and pulling U -turns in the road - which on reflection i wish I had done as well.

I've been to dozens of much larger airshows int the UK such as the Duxford Flying Legends shoes, the Shuttleworth displays and they all had much smoother, faster traffic/parking control.

If you're determined to go I'd set out as early as possible, but this encounter tainted it for me. Won't be back.
