Amazing city beach, free of charge and next to the harbour. There are two Beach Bar/ Restaurants. Nice to meet locals and some tourists.
Loved it

This beach runs along the seafront of the town, it is not really recommended for swimming as there are a lot of boats. It's rather something you walk past when you go into town. Also, the sand and water are not as nice as at PRAIA de LAGINHA. Go there :)

If you stay in Mindelo and you feel like spending a few hours on the beach, this is the place to go. Mind you, this is not a palm tree lined beach paradise ... However this artificial beach has nice white sand and the color of the sea is spectacularly turquoise. Also, the beach is very wide so that you don't hear or see the traffic on the nearby road. Two big pluses about this beach: this is where the locals go, so if you are all about cultural immersion this is where you see the guys play beach ball and the families hang out with the kids. The other very big plus is that there is an amazing beach bar called Caravella situated at the end of the beach. It is popular with tourists and locals, and very popular especially on the weekends (there is a disco in the basement). The bar has a good selection of simple dishes and amazing Caipirinhas for 2$ a pop. One word of caution: CV is known to be windy and sometimes sitting on the beach can become somewhat uncomfortable when the wind picks up and the sand starts hitting you.

This beach runs along the sea front of Mindelo, and as such has numerous boats and ships in the bay. Although it is a pleasant amenity, it is not the sort of place you would particularly want to use in the traditional beach sense. You could lie on the small sections of sand, but I would not want to swim in the sea there.

This is a lovely city front beach that also has fishermen and boats, swimming, nice sand, sunbathing, close to all eateries and fairly clean. Great for sitting back and people and activity watching- either the boats coming or going or the people on the streets. Views all around.

Praia de Bote is a beautiful beach with extremely clean water and sand like a powder. Around you can find some local shops and bar. However just becareful to not be robbed.
