The place is awful and you should definitely avoid it. There are just a couple of animals and half of them seem dead! We spent there 15min just out of courtesy but wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. Such a waste of...More

ZALA is not worth of the name 'park' and even less 'conservation'. The few animals that they have are trapped and held in very small enclosures. They threw stones & branches at the 2 Hyraxes (dassies) and a dikdik because they wouldn't come out of...More

First of all, the adress of ZALA is wrong. We took a road from TripAdvisor, but it's not right one. After calling to a guy, we went to Jozani forest. It's 10.000sh per person. And we didn't see cool stuff. 3 snake, 5 turtatles, 2...More

Sunset in the mangroves, try to sleep with bush-babies company at night, meet people from Muungoni Village. Place is a bit runned down and the 7 us entrance fee is high for what they offer. Though if you have small kids is nice for them to see all those animals. And plenty playground for them to play also. Try the camel ride.

This place is often overlooked but it is good if your interested in the other animals of Zanzibar other than the monkeys, especially the reptiles.

We stopped here in transit back to Stone Town. The park was on the point of closing but, as usual, the "Zanzabaries" were all smiles and happy to show us around. The reptiles are amazing from long, and sometimes angry, monitor lizards to beautiful wee...More

We went to ZALA park in 2011 and to find it still going is amazing, they are using the park to educate local school children about wildlife in the locality and how important it is to survive. They are now a much bigger park with...More
