This is not far from the main path through Oia and is worth a visit, especially just before sunset. It offers a great view of the sunset for pictures, but be aware that it gets very crowded around sunset. Not much remains of the ruins...More

The walk to this castle is up stairs, but it is not difficult. It is definitely worth a visit! Such a magnificent view and a wonderful little monastery at the top!

This is an obligatory photo stop, but don't expect anything of historical interest. And if you don't like heights, stay away from the edge!

The ruins are easy to spot because you will see many tourists on them taking pictures of the island. The views are great, and the area will be VERY crowded at sunset. If you want pictures there, get there at least an hour before sunset...More

We came here around 9 am and there were only a few others. I thought that this was a great time to visit because the crowds were not there. It looks like it would be a great place to watch the sunset, but there is...More

It is quiet the walk down the main path to get to the castle. But once you do, the views are amazing. I wasn’t even concerned with the ruins because the views are simply stunning. You can take a 360 degree look at the island...More

Oia is northwest of the Island where the Byzantine Castle Ruins are, and Akrotiri is in the southeast and you need to drive to get there. Enjoy your trip!
