Splendid view over the town of Oia at sunset.

Beautiful castle ruins, perfectly restored, south of the town Oia, from where you have a splendid view over the fantastic, small city at sunset.

Unfortunately until I got here for the reviews, didn't even know it was a Bizantian fort, which is sad that it is not advertised more in the location itself. You can see clearly that it use to be a fort, but you get no other information. It does stand out architecturally from the rest of the city, which is nice,... More

The ruins are not really worth visiting for themselves. However, the views from the ruins make it worth the walk. You get a nice view of the fishing village down by the ocean as well as a nice view of Oia with the while buildings and blue domes. For this reason alone, I recommend visiting this area.

There's ruins and morning much apart from it, this spot is primarily for watching sunset and attracts lots of people every single day. Came early to secure good seat.

Like other reviewers say, there's not much there. But it's worth going to because it's free and only take a few minutes of your time, and it's one of the few vantage points from which to look back at the town and get a shot of the town itself.

Great place to watch the sunset but gets very very crowded. You could just make reservations at a restaurant with a sunset view to get more privacy. Also i think the sunset view is better in fira or imerogvelli. Make sure you say hi to my Bavarian friend yuslav!

Though Crowded, this place has a astounding view which I will recommend everyone to come visit at least for once if they are staying in Oia. 景色真的很美,還可以從上方直接眺望湛藍的海水,在這裡拍照是一大享受,有時候還會有街頭藝人彈奏曲子,甚是好聽,相當推薦!

There isn't too much to look at in terms of the ruins (better seen from the other side of Oia where you can see the castle is built into the side of the hill) but the views of Oia from here are outstanding. A great spot for the sunset too but make sure you get in early as it is... More

There is hardly anything left of this Byzantine fortification but you can't really rate something that is so historically significant for the island as average on that basis. There is no information at the site about it - it seems to be known now amongst the hoards of tourists that show up each night for the spectacular sunset as the... More

Only a few ruins of the castle can be seen because most of it was destroyed by the 1956 earthquake. It was large enough for everyone except the village farmers to take shelter from the pirates. You can, however, around the castle. There is a sign warning of landslides and no entry. Some ignored the sign and chose to walk... More
