This is an unusual place in an unexpected area. It's got the intrigue of a Utah park, but in a wooded setting in the east. Lots to explore, and totally fascinating. You could easily spend a whole day here, but plan a half of a...More

The hike through the Panama Rock Scenic Park was one of the nicest hikes I have been one. I just loved the many points of interests along the way. My favorite were the roots that grew along the sides of the rocks.

Panama Rocks is a must see! The trail is not stroller friendly so be sure to bring a baby carrier. My 4 yr, 7yr, and 10 year old had no problem with the hike. They also have a treasure hunt which is so much fun...More

This place doesn’t beat mohonk mountain house by a long shot. However, it was pretty much as advertised. I would have wanted to go in the spring but couldn’t. The lady who runs the office is a little cold in her demeanor but it was...More

I've heard about Panama Rocks for a long time, and finally got a chance to go there. One of the great things about it is that it has both easy walking trails and challenging rock climbs. Perhaps because it is privately owned and not a...More

Panama Rocks is privately owned, but really should be a state park. The private owners are lovely though. The hike is very easy and only a mile, though it seems like much less given how amazing each of the sixteen or seventeen (maybe fewer) formations...More

Thanks to the State of New York Tourism TV ad, we were made aware of the Panama Rocks Park. It is tucked away and could easily be missed. The trail takes you through some amazing rock formations and places to explore. It is heavily wooded...More

Our trail is an easy to moderate hiking trail. There are short stretches with a 20-30% grade and embedded roots and rocks mean that it is not wheelchair/stroller accessible. If a person can walk on uneven ground for a mile... More

Pets are not allowed. Due to tight crevices and areas that have drop-offs, it’s a safety concern. They are pet-lovers and want our fur-babies safe!

There is a rest room available, some area for a blanket picnic and I think a swing set for the kids. It is open from the middle of May to middle of October.
