The walkway over the hudson is a very beautiful view, and wonderful place to get your exercise on, they have concession stands so if you didn't bring anything you can buy it there, but its pretty pricey which i advise you bring your own food or drinks and a bag to store you garbage. Also be aware it gets very... More

We came on a cold windy March day. We didn't make it all the way across. The view was gorgeous and we will have to return in better weather.

By far the Walkway was one of the best things that could've opened in the Hudson Valley area. They turned an old freight train bridge into a walkway over the Hudson River connecting Poughkeepsie and Highland. It's a great walk for tourists, families, and everyone. It's a refreshing yet relaxing walk anytime.

Nice idea to have a walkway over the Hudson River. Views of the river and Poughkeepsie are nice -- I haven't done the whole circuit through Poughkeepsie, but you can.

This old railway bridge was abandoned for many years before being turned into a walking, running, cycling path. One of the better things in America these days .... We walked over on the coldest day of the year though! ..... brrrrr

Loved the walk over the Hudson. Ample room for joggers, walkers, skateboarders, bikers and strollers. Able to walk at your leisure and take in all the different views with signage to help you. Have access to restrooms and benches.

Great in the fall to see the leaves changing colors, or winter to see the frozen river (can get windy and cold so bundle up), can't miss the spring/summer views either.

Take you time, this can be a long walk if you have anyone with you that is elderly, handicapped or frail. On a sunny day without wind this is a very pleasant way to spend an hour or more. Enjoy the view of the Hudson River generally with either sailboats, ferry boats or barges.

So much fun to take in the beautiful sights! I prefer going early in the morning before it gets too crowded.
