This is a must see if you are exploring the area. Stop at the little shelter and read the history behind these stone carvings before setting out. The trail is short but steep and could be maintained a little. Scrub brush and trees should also...More

It started to pour when I arrived, but since I do not get past this way often, I set out. Not a hard climb- short and uphill with poorly marked trails. Basically whenever faced with a choice, take the turn because it seems like there...More

This is a very nice, little hike. No body was there except us. You wont have many spectacular views when you go up, but you would see the history carved in stones which is really nice. I wouldn't spend an entire day on these rocks,...More

Just a passing visit and we never made it to the top, but this is a historically significant site and not properly recognised for it's importance. Zadok Pratt was clearly a visionary.

This was a spontaneous adventure. My son (14yo) and I went on the hike, however there are no signs or directions telling you how to find the carvings. We kept climbing higher and higher and actually passed the rocks. When you find the carved seat...More

easy to access - right on highway. rock carvings are interesting insight into area history. Town of Prattsville was devastated by Hurricane Irene, and it is also worth a visit to their museum.

I've been driving by this spot for years and years and finally stopped. Its a 10-20 minute uphill walk (depending upon what shape you're in) on a paved sidewalk to the rock carvings but its well worth the climb. The kiosk at the road has...More

Between Prattville and Red Falls, there is a small parking. The trail goes up, but just for a short time, and you see the sculptures. We recommend to climb a bit more above the sculpture wall for a nice view. Easy and short.
