My husband, grown daughter and I went to the Conservatory only. It was a raw, rainy mid week day so it was fairly quiet. If you have an appreciation for plants you will enjoy this little treat. The conservatory is quite small but packed with plants and includes a few turtles and birds too. It is inexpensive and takes only... More

Went there on a snowy Saturday afternoon. Made winter disappear for a little while. Very nice people working there. Some people were there painting, most just walking through. No ne was in a hurry and it was not crowded. The plants are nice, and offer a welcome change of scenery. The turtles and quail add a nice touch as well.

When it's cold and grey in upstate New York, I head for the Lamberton Conservatory to warm up and get my flower fix. My favorites areas are the jungle room with towering tropical plants, and the desert room. Watch out for chipmunks darting among the cacti, or tiny quail running around. At Christmas, there's a beautiful display of poinsettias. It's... More

The staff at Highland Park have done a phenomenal job with developing an inviting atmosphere for walking and exploring. The smallest interest in horticulture will be richly rewarded with multiple displays of plant life. The Conservatory is also well worth a visit to see the different biomes. My personal favorite is the rainforest although the desert biome is an interesting... More

This nice little arboretum features some beautiful and interesting foliage. A good place for an outing year-round.

My sister and her husband were in town for the day and the lilacs for the lilac festival were not in bloom yet so we decided to drive up the hill to the conservatory. My sister uses a walker and handicap parking was close by. The walk through the conservatory was beautiful and interesting. Besides the various plants, we were... More

The Conservatory is beautiful and calming. It is a great place to go when you need a little comfort and added beauty in your life. Hopefully if you live in Rochester, you have been here several times. Highland Park is absolutely gorgeous!

I used to take my mother there years ago in a wheelchair when she was struggling with Alzheimers. We went for a respite in the middle of winter. It was so peaceful and interesting to go through the path and look at all the plants, like a rainforest in the middle of the city. I went more recently with my... More

The conservatory has a very interesting and well-presented collection of plants with coleus, bromeliads, crotons and lots of other semi-tropical plants and also including a very good cactii collection. The only thing missing to me was some tropical water lilies but that's a minor thing. It's well worth a visit

What Lamberton Conservatory lacks in size is made up for in variety and charm. Tucked into Highland Park, it's a great spot for a stroll on a rainy day. Seasonal exhibits offer variety of plants on display. It's a popular spot for bringing young children, and doing prom and wedding photos (ask ahead of time about restrictions on professional photography).
