Those in the know, I'm told, jump on the internet ASAP to get the prime camping spots at the state park. A spot next to Seneca Lake is a winner and would be worth and amount of planning. The beach area, though small, is lovely. The two playgrounds are excellent. It's a pity that many of the campsites are plunked... More

I have been camping here for the past 4 years. I plan my trip in early June and I stay Sunday - Friday. The local schools are still in session and the park is VERY quiet mid-week. I am a tent camper and the sites at the loop close to the lake have nice grass so the site stays nice... More

Beautiful park. Wonderful location. Places to walk dogs and play with dogs. Lakefront is very scenic. This is a great time of year to visit because it is not jammed packed. Quiet at night!

We love this park, the sites are large and it's on the lake and in the wine country, the restroom/shower houses are well maintained

We rented a house on Seneca Lake and spent a few days at the Sampson State park. Very beautiful area. We also spent some time walking on the many quiet road ways - this use to be a WWII naval basic training station. Loved the small beach and it also had a very nice children's playground. The campground was quite... More

We come here every year. The sites are huge, nice trees for shade and most sites have electric. Big modern bathroom facilities. Weekends it fills up but Monday through Thursday are quiet and only at about 25% full. The marina is lovely and a nice walk to see gorgeous sunsets over the lake. Lots to do and see nearby too.

A weekend camping at Sampson had plenty of good things such as the grounds were kept well, the recreational center which has table tennis, mini-golf (for a small fee), and video games, a great location looking over Seneca Lake, decent fishing, showering facilities with faucets and not pumps, and a beach with a deep swimming area. Unfortunately the real drawback... More

We love camping at Sampson because they are very lenient about trailer parking; you can pull through or park your rig sideways if you want. The sites are all large and open and give you room to set up as you wish. The views of Seneca lake from loop 5 are great. One of the big downsides is that the... More
