Great little local hiking spot for during the week. Gets crowded weekends w little parking during summer months. I would give it 5 stars but they don’t allow dogs, even on leash.

Lots of Nature out here. You can walk all the way to the North shore. Bird watchers be ready. Hikers realize it's basically a field, followed by woods, so prepare for ticks.

The David Weld Sanctuary is run by the Nature Conservancy. It is a pristine location, with woods and overgrown fields, that borders the Long Island Sound. It is very lovely for hiking (but bring a compass for a hike through their woods, and a "MayMyWalk"...More
