There were several different sites where we could mine, and parking was easy. There are outdoor play areas for kids that are close to the mining area. They also have cabins, but we didn't stay overnight. Definitely recommend it if you enjoy banging on rocks.

After being on the road for 10 hours (took an hour off for sit down dinner) we arrived late, tired, after dark. We didn't anticipate speed limits of 50 & 55 MPH on the NY Turnpike because of contruction. (Highly recommend the turnpikes, yes there are tolls to be paid, nevertheless, there's less traffice, no signal lights nor stop signs,... More

We thought we were getting a cabin... we got a bunk house with no sheets, AC, or bathroom. We know how to rough it but the large carpenter ants crawling over you in the middle of the night was just to much... so why four stars well we came for the crystals and we were very happy with what we... I went here for my birthday on a Thursday. I love gems and minerals and have never gone "digging" for crystals before. What a great spot. The store is lovely with lots of reasonably priced crystals and rocks for sale. Evan, who attended to us at the store and rented us proper equipment for the "dig" was a lovely individual... More

This was our first time here. We had been herkimer mining before at another place. Friends had suggested this place so we thought we'd try it out! We had a great time and are hoping to return next year! They have a few cabins for rent which is what we did. Very quaint little cabin with a little deck, electricity,... More

The cabins looked beautiful I plan on booking one next year many accommodations. 4-6 person cabins and rv and tent sites. The mine experience was a lot of fun. Bring big tool fyi like sledge hammer and chisle and geological hammers and get ready to work hard for the beautiful hirkermer diamonds

Bottom line is the owner was very rude, disrespectful, curt and obviously angry that the other person (worker or husband) wanted to "leave to go home" leaving her alone to work. Words and tone were exchanged between them that were not pleasant to hear. She did not want to be there either the way we were treated. She was not... More
