This sculpture park was intended to house the works of the designer, but the setting itself became the artist's masterwork. It is possible to visit by appointment on non-open days.

An artistic man with a view created a work of art to display his sculptures. All hand crafted, he used centuries-old methods to make a showcase in a stone quarry, moving rocks to form many levels. I don't think he used any concrete at all....More

Opus 40 was quite amazing once you know the story behind it. To learn this it is important to watch the short video - about 6 min at the ticket office. Don't rush the visit - take your time and walk around the sculpture and...More

We visited on a beautiful autumn day. Such a wonderful tribute to a true natural artist. Incorporating the old quarry into your backyard took a labor of love. Bring a snack and a book and watch the leaves change

Had a lovely walk around with four kids ages 12,11, 7 and 7. It really is an amazing feat and we all enjoyed it even in the drizzle. Kids loved it and even managed to stick to the ‘walk don’t run’ and ‘no climbing’ rules...More

My husband and I spent almost an hour here but would have spent longer if we were more fit and capable of climbing around. Would be a great place to have children clamber up and around the rocks and crevices. Just important to be a...More

Opus 40 is well worth seeing. It is beautiful and serene. Lots of places to explore. A great place for a picnic or just a leisurely walk. Lots to see and a great spot for pictures.

Great place to grab lunch and have a nice picnic in the lawn. Kids enjoyed checking the statues and what opus 40 has to offer. It was hot and humid so it was hard to walk around. We be back in the future to spend...More

Realy I was surprised. I read a few lines on what is Opus 40 before I visited, but I was not prepared to see this. It is unorthodox, bizzarre and in general very nice. I don't want to spoil your impressions, please visit. Thumbs up.
