I always enjoy the Seven Lakes Drive scenery. It is a good place to visit during any season, but I especially love to visit during the height of the fall foliage. It can be very packed here and people may struggle to find parallel parking on the side of the road. People should also take notice of the speed limits in this park.

Searched for magnificient Fall Foilage drives in NYS and came across this one which travels beautifully through Harriman State Park from Sloatsburg alongside picturesque lakes. Short trip - but so peaceful and a photo haven - with stop off areas. We came to the end of the route - and just had to turn around and travel back! Worth the ride for the scenery!

We enjoyed a beautiful fall ride stopping at many of the lakes and enjoying the magnificent fall foliage. The road was not crowded so we were able to take our time and enjoy the scenery.

Although I've lived an hour away from this for a while, I never drove it until this August 2019. Normally, I have a lead foot and use roads like this for performance driving. However, the scenery was so beautiful that I kept it under the speed limit so I could take in everything. I'll go back during foliage season.

We are living close to the 7 Lakes Drive. Coming through Sloatsburg take a right and enjoy the cleanliness of the Drive, the beautiful forest and the awesome lake.

Seven Lakes Drive is a beautiful road to take during the peak autumn season, and many of the lakes make for lovely destinations for summer outings

A short drive from NYC, this is a lovely place to drive, bike ride, and definitely stop off to hike and swim. It is spread out enough that you can swim and not be crowded.

Bike - Hike - Swim. Lots to like here. I ride a road bicycle. There is a lot of stress on the roads around Bergen and Rockland counties. This parkland is an oasis for long - short - hard climbing - flat riding and zero stress. It's like it was made for cyclists.
On a Tues afternoon I did a 40 mile ride and saw 3 cars - all of which know to share-the-road.
Great place for training for looong riding.

My husband and I love to drive through 7 Lakes Drive all year long. The park is beautiful and each season gives you a new sight to see. The winding road through the woods is relaxing; fishing is fun; picnicking/barbequing is great; the beach is clean; and the hiking is wonderful. Be forewarned--during the summer, it gets very crowded with camp buses early in the day during the week, and the weekends get crazy with people coming here from the Bronx, playing loud music, and crowding each other—one blanket against the next. But the late afternoon or evening during the summer is tranquil and beautiful! The changing of the leaves in the fall is gorgeous, and the lakes icing over in the winter is a sight to see.

Is this a good place for dogs? Can they swim in the lake?

This article is about Harriman State Park, which I believe Seven Lakes Drive is in. Cant put a link. Seems that dogs are OK as long as on a leash. I have swum in areas not set aside for swimming with no one else around. I’m sure your dog can join you. This was all on the qt of course.
Is there a place to rent bikes ?

Yes. In fact the bike shop is on Route 17 in the Village of Sloatsburg just south of Seven Lakes Drive. There is a
complete biker's facility there as well as some cool brew pub
and food choices. Enjoy!!
