Horton's Point Lighthouse adds to a great day trip to the North Fork. There is a small museum with exhibits of marine and nautical objects, paintings, and documents. There is also a small collection of furnishings and tools (ie; sextant, spyglass). It's an easy climb...More

A place worth visiting. Take a picnic or barbecue (pits available along picnic tables). Staff is super friendly; awesome view of Long Island Sound from grounds and tower. Great walk down by the water. Museum has some very old nautical pieces and history.

Aside from what seems to be rather a rather overly aggressive attempt to raise money from "donations" - $5 for parking plus $5 each for entry plus $1 for a bottle of water - this is a very interesting place to visit with knowledgeable volunteers,...More

Understandable that it's not open often because they use volunteers. However, the grounds are beautiful, and people should be able to visit when the lighthouse is closed. No other place to park, because parking in the street results in a ticket even if you park...More

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately the parking is not managed by the lighthouse but the Southold Park District. We will share this note with them.

Loved discovering Horton Point. We visited the beach below- did some fishing and was then given an amazing tour by some great volunteers. So much history.
