We finally made it to this event, which you need to buy tickets for in advance. Great for kids of all ages, plenty to do. Just grab a costume and go on in. Live entertainment including Magician Mike Lane and Patrick and the rock a silly band were a real treat!

Child-friendly, signs that are informative and easy to read, nice holiday activities & events. The exhibits could be bigger for the animals, but it's also NYC and space is rather limited. So it's understandable.

Being from Australia, our zoos are incredible with only the best enclosures, surroundings and care for our animals so I was super excited to visit the local zoo on Staten Island. There was no admission fee when we visited as they were doing maintenance work although we left a $10 donation. The zoo is extremely tired, drab and depressing. The... More

The place is small but it has nice things to see and take a stroll with children of all ages. Even my nieces that are in thier 20s enjoyed it.

Hahaha this is the most depressing zoo. Literally I think they need to hire a Ananias psychiatrist becacuse those animals need a xanax. The aquarium is comparable to the fish section at petco. The snake section is quite nice to bad it's about 30 ft. They did away with the huge alligator enclosure and they now have 3 alligators who... More

I remember visiting the Staten Island Zoo as a child in the 1980's, when there were large animals like lions and tigers stuck in small cement enclosures and who were sadly pacing back and forth all day. At the time I didn't really think about animal rights, but 30 years later that was on my mind when I returned to... More

This was my second visit to the zoo in 15 plus years. I took my cousin who was visiting from Canada. The entrance fee was very reasonable and street parking was no problem for a random weekday in late morning. I was pleasantly surprised at all of the different animals and exhibits there and I loved the petting zoo. Wish... More

My daughter loves going to the zoo. The lemur habitat is fantastic, allowing people to get safely close to wild cats. The carousel is adorable for a small additional cost. The feeding/ petting zoo is a highlight for kids.

A nice little small zoo. I have to take a train and a bus but the bus stops right in front of it. I also got to see Staten Island Chuck for all Groundhog fans

I've been to this zoo a few times now, usually go every other year it's nice and clean but very small. I'm also used to the Bronx zoo so everything is small compared to that. Wed afternoon is free admission and they have petting zoo there also. Nice little place if u want to kill a few hours.
