One of my trip pearl which I discovered by accident was this noble maritime collection. Amazing free exhibition of ships, sailor's life and all so beautiful and peaceful.

We had nothing to do one day and it was beautiful out so we decided to take a trip here and it was wonderful. So nice to walk the grounds and check out very interesting sites both inside and outside.

Snug Harbor is one of the best attractions in Staten Island but like most other attractions in the area, it suffers from a lack of recognition by visitors (and even locals) and a somewhat inconvenient location. Aside from children's, staten island, naval and other museums, I just live roaming through the property. Takes you away from reality and drown in the sea of Serenity. Highly recommend visiting Chinese garden and especially hedge maze which has intriguing history behind it that will give you goose bumps.

What better place to release a squirrel that I trapped in my attic ! The "cultural people" can provide a good home for him. They will feed him nuts on their lawn and tuck him in at night ! Thank you "cultural people ".

It is usually quiet; If you get to spend some time there, you can hardly believe you are in NY. It is haunting. There is a massive bamboo garden, koi pond, simple simple rooms and courtyards.

What a hidden treasure. The Japanese garden filled with bamboo and streams and sounds. So peaceful. Went with an adult school trip. We didn't want to leave. If you are in SI and weather is nice ....go.
