Nicely done by the county, part of massive clean-up project and related to the new concert venue. Of limited interest to non residents,

The playground was great and handicap accessible. There was bike rentals and these cool pedal carts and a bike built for 7! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a Great park if your looking to take your kids to the Wegman's playground or walk 5 miles. Parts of the park could use some upgrading but its still great for running and biking too. There are Picnic area's too. I've taken my teenagers before just to sit at a picnic table to play board games or cards... More

This was a stop we took to show our son, studying and living at Syracuse Univ, that there's more to Syracuse than just the campus. We were happy we stopped. It was a beautiful day. They have bike rentals for up to 8 riders.

Nice place to run around the lake. The view on the lake is beautiful. Only bad point is the highway that you have to cross after 5 miles.

You can see/read everything at the Onondaga Lake Visitor's Center in about 20-30 minutes. But if you are in the area it is worth the stop. As a local resident, I've know about the pollution problems in Onondaga Lake for years, as well as the many fits and starts toward cleaning it up. Until visiting this center, I really had... More

Traveling west on I-690, take exit #7. At the bottom of the ramp turn 180° to the right on the access road, the gate to the visitors center is about 100 yards down this road on the left. It is open on Fridays from 1 to 4:30 PM. Traveling East, take exit #7, turn left a traffic light at end... More

Living in Syracuse, I knew what the lake was, and the history of it's demise. The Visitors center educates about the past, the present and the future of Onondaga lake. For anyone that wonders what is going on or what the future holds for Onondaga lake, it is a must stop.

Having been residents of the area some 30 years ago, we knew well the woes of this horribly polluted lake. We arranged a visit for a Monday afternoon, and met the gentleman responsible for public relations about the project. We learned all about the remarkable effort (which is nearing an end) to restore Lake Onondaga. This is a story worth... More
