The Rosamond Gifford Zoo (formerly the Burnet Park Zoo) has been in existence for many years. As a Syracuse native, I remember visiting the zoo nearly 50 years ago. The zoo is small, easily covered in several hours, but is well maintained, and although there...More

Wonderful zoo. I have been to larger zoos, like the Denver zoo, but in fact ours is superior. It seems to be just the right size, just big enough, with a great selection of animals. The highlight has to be the elephants, with the penguins...More

Very nice setting. Very clean and kept up well. For such a small zoo, the elephant area was enormous and very cool.

In Syracuse this small zoo is a nice afternoon for children. It is well maintained. Often there are special demonstrations & special events at night I believe as well.
