We visited Taughannock Falls State Park at approximately 4 PM after driving up from NJ. We started at the Overlook, where you can get information, maps, and go to the bathroom in addition to getting a great view of the falls. There is no fee...More

After seeing Watkins Glenn Falls I thought it would be a repeat, but both wonderful in their own way. We enjoyed a short walk to an overlook and also walked some on upper trail. The folks below at the falls were tiny 'ants'. The rain...More

Even upon checking in ( careful, limited electric sites) we knew this place was special. Went up to the Overlook to get our bearings. The lady at the CheckIn suggested we go to Trumansburg, as Wednesday from 4-7 they have a farmers market. Great tip....More

This was a spectacular treasure supplied by mother nature. The hike to the falls was full of natural beauty that is almost impossible to properly describe, unless you experience it with your own eyes. A must visit if you enjoy nature.

We parked at the Falls Overlook and walked down the North Rim trail to the lower parking lot where the Gorge Trail begins; took that trail to the main falls and back, then ascended on the South Rim trail which eventually joins the North Rim...More

We had a great walk to view the waterfall from below. This is a great place to visit when in the area.

Upstate New York prides itself on the number of "wine trails" that are available to visit and the number of small towns to meander through and antique;however, I would also include Taughannock Falls State Park as a "must do". In spite of the fact that...More

We saw the fall from the "picture" view and then started to walk the Rim Trail. Realized that what we were walking in one direction would have to be traversed in the opposite direction so headed back about 1/3 way down. Next day we walked...More

We rented a cabin for our family. It was clean, spacious and had a refrigerator! Shower house was clean with hot water and great water pressure. The beach was nice, playground was fun. Kids want to come back next year!

As others have said, we have had a lot of rain so there is a lot of water rushing through the gorge. I don't think walking through the water is either safe or allowed.

No problems at all! A tiny bit muddy in some areas but the roads are all clear. Perfect time to go because of the extra water!
