We were out for lunch and while walking back to the car we saw the winery and stopped in. we did the wine tasting and our wine was served in glasses unlike some other reviews that talked about plastic glasses.it was early afternoon and we were the only ones there, the wines were all really good and we purchased a mixed case. Next time we are in the area we will stop in here for lunch they open at 11am for lunch and the menu looked very inviting. I think you would have a fun time partaking in a wine tasting here, stop in and give them a try.

I absolutely love this place, the food is delicious, prices are fair and the staff is great. They have a wide variety of wines, but my favorites are the Tiki Freakies, very good. Wine infused chocolate sauce and Belgian Waffles DELICIOUS.

The strangest and most uncomfortable experience ever had in a winery. We stopped in to do a tasting and there were 2 females behind bar. No one seemed to have a clue. No one seemed to care that we were there. We sat at the bar; me, my husband and adult daughter, we asked it we could do a tasting, "sure" The one girl that seemed in charge was helping the other. -there were 2 other ppl in the place-didn't think pouring wine was PhD work but she was struggling. We were given their tasting list and after my daughter and I were ready, the lined up plastic hello shot cups in front of us with the corresponding bottle. We sat there and waited because they completely ignored my husband. Finally got service but the 2 women went back to help the other party with their flights. NO ONE took any further time with us. No one explained the wines, what we were drinking, you know- your typical conversation the sommelier would have with guests tasting wine. Since we felt like we were bothering them we just decided to drink up - the one without a clue asked if we wanted to start a tab. When I said no, she quickly got out bill together (oh we did but a couple of wine cupcakes- they were tasty) and handed it to us. I felt like they wanted us to leave Grew up on Long Island and have visited well over 100 wineries in my time -not just in NY and had to be out WORST experience. Get it together ladies!! Customer service, some friendly chit chat - I don't know -maybe act like you care and were happy someone visited your establishment. We drove 30 minutes away to another winery and we couldn't get over how weird it was. Funny thing- another couple was at the 2nd one we visited and they actually brought it up. I asked if it MVW was new and they told me it was new mgmt. I see this to be a short lived career for the 2 that were working there. Or they were inexperienced owners who thought it would be cool to have a wine bar. I'd never go back.

Six of us landed at The Mohawk Valley Winery for happy hour and it was great! Bartender extraordinaire Emma was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful in choosing wines that we'd like, and I helped myself to a white flight which was awesome (see photo). Local NYS wines, nothing else but water to drink. Love the atmosphere with beautiful custom woodwork & flooring, modern lighting, exposed ductwork, padded comfy seating (both banquette & tables/chairs), and cheery personnel. They have appetizers and a couple of desserts. We didn't choose to eat this time, but we'll be back!
