Wild and beautiful

We visited here briefly during a catamaran trip. A very small island which we walked all round in 30 minutes or so, but really wild and beautiful with warm clear waters to enjoy.

We went here on a day trip and the boat has to stop further out due to the rocks and we walked along them to get to the island. It can be walked around the whole of it in 20 mins but its so beautiful and untouched we loved it and it's such a great place to go swimming.

I have visited Pointe Bernache (known simply as Bernache) on numerous occasions over the last few decades. It never looses its magic. Located to the North East of Mauritius it is close to the larger island of Ile d'Ambre (Amber Island)and is best reached from the villages of Grand Gaube or Poudre d'Or. It is not far from the shipwreck... More
