My group, including tow small children, did a brief walking tour through stone town. There were motorcyclists, crowded streets, cars, sellers on the sidewalk, etc. Wasn't great for our large group with kids. The fort itself is quite interesting to walk by, but it is...More

We went through the Old Fort as part of our walking tour. There's not a lot to see, but it is interesting to hear the history and to see the amphitheater that is in use today. We had already done a lot of shopping, so...More

The historic cite has become nothing more than a place where tourists are bombarded by sellers of trinkets.

A must visit to this place! It has great history, from the slave auction site to the international film day.

A bit of a random place, but a good local shopping experience and a place to get henna done by local woman. You can negotiate for prices here and I found the locals to be fair in their prices.

Well, there's not much to say about the Old Fort... The grounds area is lush and well maintained and I found out events take place there. It looks good enough for a picnic spot.

The Arabian fortress built in the 17th Century by Omanis to defend the island by the Portuguese attacks. Nowadays it appears quite well preserved and its visit takes about 30/40 minutes.

Marketplace inside the fort is interesting. The history behind the building itself is wonderful and it's a very beautiful spot nestled in Stonetown.
