Interesting to find out more about Stone town and it's history. Not sure about the stalls selling trinkets around the edge!

If you are in Stone Town, you definitely have to see old fort - it’s one of the most interesting place to see.

Few people seem to visit despite it being in the hustle and bustle of Stonetown. There is very little information or guidance to benefit from. There’s also a few stalls selling things that are quite aggressive by Zanzibari standards. I assume because they get few...More

Our tour guide ended our tour here and it is a must see! Castle like with rich history. Also has festivals inside certain points of the year!

I didnt even realise it was some historical thing to see. It looked like a fort all right but we went in and it was full of people selling overpriced goods and whatnot. I only wandered in because a lady found me on the street...More

Visited the old fort. There iare information boards explaining its history and is quite interesting. Now it houses quite a few shops, tourist information, and has had an amphitheatre added to make it an arts venue. Worth a quick visit if in Stonetown.

Yet another gloomy monument of stone town. Inside there are a few tourists traps, including souvenir shops, hairdressers and jewelry sellers. Don't buy anything there!!! In fact - don't gp there at all, there's really nothing to see anyway.
