I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but since so many people here reported having a great time doing the golden monkey trek, I decided to add it onto my trip after seeing the gorillas in Bwindi. After a steep 1.5 hour hike up the...More

This was the highlight of our trip and it is worth all the effort and money. We got to a group of 4 adults and 2 small ones. The tracker was good and porter is advised. You do need to be able to walk long...More

The Uganda Wildlife Authority office in Kisoro bills the Sabinyo Gorge hike in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park as moderate with limited elevation gain. It proved to be the most strenuous hike we have ever attempted, going up and down uneven ladders, and scrambling over steep,...More

I cannot recommend this enough. If you do one thing in Uganda, you need to go Gorilla Trekking. It's a little pricy, yes, but it is worth every penny. We went up into the park with a guide and a couple guys to protect us...More

Mgahinga only has one gorilla family, but that also means that you and your group will be the only one tracking it on any given day... and with five silverbacks it's a pretty interesting family at that! It's pretty steep here, but otherwise straight-forward enough.

We did 2 days of gorilla tracking. It was the most memorable experience. Guides, trackers and rangers are fantastic and having a porter to help you with the trek into the forest was invaluable & highly recommended. An amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience!!

Yes. You really should because they handle the necessary permits required to enter the park. You have to be scheduled. I recommend Mountain Gorilla Coffee Tours.
