Playa Amarilla was absolutely full of people, when we visited. Most were simply sunbathing, preening themselves or showing off! The sea was very rough with biggish breakers coming in, so hardly anyone was in the water. The sea state obviously varies throughout the year and can be very variable. Great for people-watching and photos. It was an excellent alternative to being in Valparaiso city.

Plenty of sand space to lay out and enjoy the sand and the surf. There is one small snack shack for drinks and that is about it. The waves were not very big and in March the water is already cold. It is clean, seems safe, and a very nice restaurant across the street.
