Really fun water park, just a few too many people
We loved it and spent all day there to get the most out of all the slides and pool areas. The wristband system for payments and lockers works well. The food was not too expensive. The slides were great! We found it a little over-sold so that the queues were just a bit too long, especially for the family raft rides which we had to queue for 40-45 minutes for. Fewer people would’ve given it a 5/5 from us!

I could have been great - but wasnt
We spent one day here with our teenage kids. The water park itself is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail. The slides are fun and quite fast. So much for the good part. What destroyed the whole experience was how busy it was. There were so many people in the water, it was borderline gross. The queues at the slides were absurd and I was quite irritated to see how little staff there was to help customers at the slides and get the safely into the slide vessels. We left the park much earlier than planned. Too busy, too long waits.

Wonderful waterpark for kids. but long lines
lots to do in a full day. scary rides, more calm rides, water slides galore, our kids spent most of their time in the wave pool bobbing up and down. food options are good for kids if limited. you tap your watch to pay for everything which is convenient. changing rooms could be a bit more convenient. the big bummer is lines. we had to wait long times for the best rides and it really gets tired. they should not sell so many tickets and let in people just to stand in line.

    Great All Around BUT….
One of the best water parks I’ve visiting over the years. I would definitely consider it as one of the top 10 if not the top 5 water parks in the world. Here’s what i liked: amazing variety of rides, the space is compact so you don’t have to walk long distances for one zone to another, the theming of the zones is amazing and i really like the Viking zone where the racing slides are…food was overall good (we ate at several places over 2 days) especially the salad bar and the burger station. The small kids / babies zone is also nice, compact and close to the entrance. There are only a couple of down sides to my experience there. The first being the wave pool seemed to be small for the volume of people / size of the resort, the lazy river is too short and narrow with long waiting lines and finally, the place was crowded and waiting time for some of the rides was long (45 mins to 1 hr) on the first day. On day 2 it was better but still over crowded. Overall, if they can limit the number of guests / quota per day, it would be an amazing experience for everyone. The good this is there’s plenty of land around the park for future expansion! Will Definelty visit again.

    Too crowded
We arrived around noon on a Wednesday in August. We bought our tickets the day before and the only tickets available at this point were the type that included Hyggedal. I didn’t think we would use this section of the water park but I was so glad we had access here when I saw the crowds of people upon arrival. I thought I was in the midst of a soccer stadium, I’ve honestly ever seen such immense crowds there. Lines for everything were a minimum of 30 minutes, even the lazy river. I have never queued for a lazy river before. Everywhere you walked there were huge crowds of people. Hyggedal on the other hand was beautiful and serene and I was glad to reach a place where you could breathe. They have a very nice sun terrace too. Queues for food were insane but in Hyggedal they served poke bowls which were fresh and delicious with no queues. The wave pool is very small with a huge amount of people in it all falling on top or over each other , and the outside pool is much too small for the volumes of guests. From 5pm onwards queue times improved considerably and by 7 pm wait times were down to 10 minutes. We had a great time from 7-10 pm and even went on the lazy river. If we didn’t have access to Hyggedal between noon and 5 pm there is no way we could have endured the afternoon here. I am just so glad we didn’t go in the morning when it opened. Rulantica could be a great water park if they reduced the amount of guests they allow to enter …

Fun experience but cold water and some other flaws
The slides were a great fun, especially Vilstrom (the only attraction where you didn't need to stand in line for 30-60 min.). The lines are a problem, my kid was exhausted at some of them, and you can't slide more than probably 5 big slides (except Vildstrom) on a busy day if you include the times of walking to attractions, navigating, standing in line for food and bathroom etc. The theme is great, everything looks new and beautiful. The lazy river is fun but also has a long line most of the time and at 2 places you get cold water dropped onto you (not my idea of relaxation). The biggest problem is cold water!! The pool where you get in inside and go outside is supposed to be very warm for the contrast of cold winter air and hot water, but it wasn't! "Hot" tub wasn't either. We had to leave one attraction (Tonnevirvel) before it started because it was just in a tent outside, and it was cold, the seats were freezing, and we didn't feel like being sprayed with cold water on top of that. There was not really a place where we could warm up. Later we discovered one small pool (the one with a bar in it) that was warm, but not enough. The whole sauna area is extra fee (that's ok) and 18+ (which is ridiculous). They could have left one small sauna or hot tub available to families for a small fee. And please, stop saving on water heating costs. The German habit of reserving seats with towels (and clothing, and even shoes...) is at its best there. Hundreds of seats, all taken, only a few people actually seating on them. The management has to make sure the rule of not reserving seats is actually followed. The rule of not letting your babies and kids run around totally naked wasn't followed by everyone either, kind of gross. There was a lot of attention to safety, but not always enough. There was no staff to make sure people get in correctly at some slides. The floors were dried with special machines, but after 5-6 pm there weren't enough of them and some people slipped, including me. A lot of people were walking around barefoot, because it takes a lot of time to navigate through crowds to get back to the place you left your shoes before getting on a slide. The water was also very chemical, which is I guess needed with these crowds, but at no other pool/waterpark I got itchiness in my eyes after contact with water. I recommend swimming googles even if you're not intentionally getting under water. Regarding the service, it was quite nice. Most of the staff were friendly, and the food was tasty and just a bit (but not too much) overpriced. The cocktails (tried virgin mojito, it was just sprite with 2-3 tiny pieces of mint and lemon) could have been better for the price. The bracelet system was convenient. The showers, toilets and other facilities were clean, no question.

    Great waterpark
We were very impressed upon entrance, everything looks clean and beautifully styled/ themed. We loved the bracelets, no need for wallets in the park. There are over 20 attractions, we had 6 hours to spend and could not do them all. Food was fine, we had pasta and pizza.Basic, but does the trick. Overall, we had a very positive experienceand I would reccommend!

Great fun for families / kids of all ages.
The kids loved all the slides a lot - the place caters really to children of all ages. The outside area is a great playground too, and there were fun shows by the outside pool. We were with kids 2-11 years and they all enjoyed it until the very end at 22:00h. We rented a compartment with private sofa and safe, which is practical as a meeting point (we were 11 ppl with 7 children). That said, there are plenty of lounge chairs available without reservation. Food is great and fresh - much better than usual "swimming pool" options. The entire place is very clean and perfectly maintained. Staying at the Kronasar Hotel was a plus as it has direct access to Rulantika (and a convenient shuttle to Europapark). Only suggestions for improvement: The floor is rather slippery. The constantly repetitive music can get annoying rather than relaxing, and last not least, we found it a bit too warm inside (air temperature).

Long waiting times and staff is not welcoming
The positives: The ticket purchase via the app was simple. The rides we tried were fun, safe and the mermaid/triton/snorri theme is a hit with the children. Some rides/ splash pools are baby friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. This park is beautifully done and well maintained. It has great potential but had some major flaws that, if improved, could make it much nicer! The negatives: we visited on a long weekend and the place was PACKED with people; they sold far more thickets than they should have. The facilities are big and the maps difficult to read so it was impossible to find your way around and select which rides were appropriate for what age age. Most queues/ waiting times were very long so we only managed to try a few rides. The app was not helpful. The wait to get any food was approx. 1hour, and you have to queue which is not acceptable when you have small children. If you bring a push chair, you must book a large locker for the push chair or leave it in the car. When we asked if there was a dedicated place to park them, we were told in a passive- aggressive tone that if we did that, it would be taken away and “it could take up to 30 days to retrieve it”. Lady, it was just a question! And this brings me to my last point: the staff. Most of the staff we interacted with was not costumer oriented or nice at all (example above) and needs training. Maybe they are overworked but they need to keep in mind the place they work at. As we were leaving Rulantica, an older Gentleman that works at the Souvenir shop at the entrance hall was SCREAMING at a little girl because she dared to touch one of the shop’s ballon. And answered me in a grumpy way when I told him that it was just a balloon (what the girl’s family paid to enter was likely enough to buy 50 of those balloons).People who only think about sales, scream at children or give intimidating responses should NOT work in a family-oriented water park. Rulantica has the potential to be a great place but it’s not there yet. We enjoyed some aspects of it but the essential is lacking, so we will not be returning soon.

Great to combine Rulantica and Europa Park in a visit
We visited Rulantica on a recent lads and dads trip combined with Europa Park and had a great time. Everything is indoors but you can go out to an outdoor pool if you feel the need ( it was cold and rainy when we visited ). Thrill rides included a 4 person high sided ride, a 4 person flume, a ski jump into water flume, 2 x vertical drops and an 8 person racer. Food was good and similar to Europa Park burger and chips. We got there at 930am and it was at a pleasant busyness level until around 3pm when the day people started to overlap with more evening people and it started to get very busy in the shared area in the central walkways. Very good value for money, very clean, very modern. Would benefit from the Virtual Queue bracelets that are used in Volcano Bay in Orlando to avoid long queues at certain points of the day. All in all a great addition to a Europa Park visit for us all !

Here a detailed review:

Arrival/ticketing:
As a Kronasar hotel guest and having already purchased a ticket in andvance. The entry was pretty smooth, I got my entry wrist band at the hotel reception and was ready to go. Everything you buy in the park will be charged on your wrist band and you pay that when exiting. I bought an evening ticket (4:30pm - 10pm), which was still rather expensivs for 41 euros I thought. As a solo visitor 5h are more than enough to do all attractions.

The park:
The changing rooms and lockers are pretty clean and spacy (2 stories).
The park itself looks very scenic and is well themed. I thought its pretty immersive. It was also pretty clean, the floor was a bit slippery, so flip flops are not a bad idea.
For a Sunday evening I thought it was not that crowded. The outdoor area Svalgoruk was open as well (despite it being only early may, 19°C).
The staff was nice, but as everywhere else there some cool guys but also some more unpleasant guys.

Attractions:
During my stay most slides had a moderate to low wait. Waiting times dropped to zero at around 8pm. The slide variety was ok, they have some cool slides but its not the park's strongest aspect. Galaxy Erding, Miramar Weinheim ou Aquamagis have a better slide collection.
Here the main slides (dont remember the names since they are hard to remember):
-Trap door slides: these are to me the most fun/exciting slides there. The drop might not be as intense as other trap doors but still delivers. I could ride each 3x, they barey had any waiting time. Sadly they dont allow swimming goggles, water shoots into your face.
-Dueling tire slide: I thought that one was mere average, kinda slow and had some dead spots. Had nice coloring though.
-10 lane mat racer: Those are really fun and thrilling. Doing laps will give you good cardio since its a long walk up. The wait was always very short.
-Bowl tire slide: Very fun slide with all enclosed bowl. Thought it would be cooler with more light effects. This one had a longer wait but dropped to 0 after 9pm.
-Red tire slide: standard average tire slide with quick turns
-2 group raft slides: Those are enjoyable. Sadly longer waits, especially as a solo rider you might have to wait longer. The slide with the quarter pipe /wall stall is the most fun but also harder to get a ride on since they allow only 2 or 4 riders at once. So good luck finding a ride partner, waited for 15min at the top.
-Ice breaker jump slides: fun thrilling little slides
-wave pool: very enjoyable with pretty high wave, also nice themed (check my pic added)
-lazy river: very interesting and well themed river, I'd say one of the best
-outdoor wild river: one of the more tame wild river but very fun, not rough at all and has a good lenght, best time when its dark
-Svalgoruk outdoor play area: eyecatching structure with some interesting slides: Spiralrok, Slalomrok, Bowl slide (thrilling, interesting concept with the pool in the bowl), double racer. Those are also fun for adults. Only con to me were the seams between the slide parts that kinda scratched my back.

Bars:
The indoors pool bar is pretty cool with a nice chill atmosphere. The additional jets and lie down spaces made it perfect to relax. Their choice of drink, especially cocktails, is great. Their choice of beer is a bit slim though. The drinks are higher priced (like Luxembourg price level). The outdoor pool bar area is cool as well but usually more crowded and a bit more expensive.
Also I saw that they hand out different kinds of cups. Some cocktail can be handed to the pfand machines, some not and you gotta return them at the bar (you get back 2 euros).

Verdict:
++ theming, ambience
++ cleanliness
++ low to no waits in the evening
++ lazy river
+ trap door slides
+ wild river (night)
+ wave pool
+ mat racer
- back scratching on Svalgoruk (outdoor) slides
- price
- slide line up (you are done with all the slides pretty quickly)

Over crowded, our stuff got stolen we were at the customer service and said what happened to us and the lady said “if somebody will find your stuff you will find them here” and I said “our stuff got stolen!” Not lost and she said ahaa, in this case we can’t do nothing, at the end we had no warm water by the men showers 😅

Not worth in my opinion and my brother. We went wednesday to Europa Park, that was really amazing with all the christmas stuff, never seen before en went beyond our expectations. But Rulantica, 44 euro each person (almost same as Europa Park) and we did the slides in 1 hours, in 2 hours total we leaved because it was cold also inside the indoor swimming area and we were bored.

Europa Park is great, best theme park but rulantica really not worth the money. I should rather recommend an extra day Europa Park for the money instead of going to Rulantica.
