This was a nice and interesting outing on the island of Capri. Really a beautiful place to visit. Especially if you like to time travel in your mind into historic places. Walking through the villa was nice. It's especially lovely if you read the book about Axel Munthe.

Beautiful Villa with an even more beautiful garden with stunning views. What stood out in the garden was an element of wildness which added to its beauty.A far cry from structured manicured gardens. It has a very calming music room which was the highlight. A cafe with a great view is the perfect place to relax after seeing the garden.... More

Capri, that neat, pristine, gorgeous island, is indeed a jewel, and when you come to visit it from dirty, noisy Napoli, it shines even brighter. While we were roaming around Capri, we passed by this villa Saint Michelle. One of my companions said, "I've read this is interesting" So, we went in to see it. I reluctantly paid the 8€... More

We visited here early morning on our second day in Capri. I suggest you go early before the crowds get there. The property is beautiful but most impressive is the history of the property and the life of Axel Munthe. We bought the book The story of San Michele after our walk through the property. He truly was a man... More

Hiking from the port is a perfect trip, about 45 minutes, ~1000 stairs through the woods. The alternative is to use a cab or a bus. The view is astonishing. The gardens are very well preserved, and the sweets from the boutique are fabulous. The best place to visit in Capri.

At the end of a pathway in Anacapri we were led to a beautiful house which sits towards the edge of the cliffs. In itself the house is wonderful and whilst from a past era i would find it so livable today. This house flows out into an alfresco area and on to the superb gardens with many different plants... Actually took this tour because I was hesitant to go on chair lifts to top of mountain, the other choice in Anacapri visit. But, I was in for a pleasant surprise and not sorry at all. As others have said, beautiful gardens, interesting history and drop-dead views. After the crowds in town centers, this was a peaceful and gorgeous way... More

This villa is a highlight in Capri. Taking the steps from the town, makes the villa a real achievement, worth every step. The villa, garden and views were spectacular.
