My (now) fiancé was overcome by the beauty of this place—the flowers, the ocean views, the ancient artifacts—and ditched his other plans and proposed to me here. What better recommendation than a place being so beautiful that it moves you to such a gesture, original...More

The admission fee is a bit too steep in my opinion but I am very glad that the high price didn't put us off going inside. The interior of the house is relatively unremarkable but the gardens and views are so fabulous that they make...More

Axel Munthe, the Swedish doctor/writer/amateur architect, knew what he was doing when he purchased, around the beginning of the 20th century, a prime piece of real estate almost at the very top of the island or Capri. It happened that the Roman Emperor, Tiberius, had...More

Beautiful spot with gorgeous views. Entrance is a bit pricey for budget travelers (8€ per person) but worth visiting for the view!

This was our favorite place on Capri. Everywhere was crowd and noise, but this garden was peaceful and awesome. There is a coffee shop on the top of the villa, I recommend to sit and enjoy.

Interesting man, actually bought a book about him at the bookstore. If you keep walking past to the end you get to the stairs and path to walk back to Capri. Fun walk for awhile, but it keeps going and figuring out where to cut...More

The Villa San Michele is an astonishing collection of art, architecture, science, history, and beautiful gardens tucked into the tiny village of Anacapri. Its builder may have lived in the 19th and 20th centuries, but he was truly a Renaissance man.

What a truly special place this is! The house is very interesting but the garden is sublime! Definitely the best thing we did on our holiday, and to cap it all there is the most wonderful cafe with outside seating looking over the garden and...More

Ditto! A very nice stroll to get there, a few steps in the house and in the garden but nothing worth noting. Don't miss it!
