Built in the XII c. this monastery is a great example of Romanesque architecture. There is an impressive cloister to discover - well preserved - as well as the remains of a church where columns' capitals are nicely decorated with allegorical scenes. Recommended if you're visiting Soria

A long, hot walk across town and over the lovely river Duero is a striking sight. A group of people later known as the Knights of Malta took over a church to make it their headquarters after returning from the crusades. The wonderful cloister has 4 different arch styles, the simple Romanesque, the Islamic horseshoe, and 2 other eastern styles... More

Happen to visit cousins during the fiestas de San Juan. What a party! Music, drinks and food mixed with people from all over the world. Soria has many sites like caveman drawings, cathedral, and a monastery by the river. The river is the place to be where the festival starts and ends. I didn't understand the significance of pouring wine... More

This place is easily reachable in Soria. It, too, is situated along the river. There is a parking lot that is very convenient and the entrance is a short stroll away. This is a very interesting place, but could benefit from additional information. The little museum on site has very few exhibits, but they are interesting. Unfortunately, they left me... More

We came here as part of our recent trip to Soria. It's a reasonable 20 minute walk, mostly downhill from the main part of town - which means that you have an uphill walk to look forward to on the way back. There's a pleasant path along the river, which makes for a nice walk to the cloisters. We arrived... More

Beautiful historic site along the Duero river. Great walking trails have been added along both banks of the river.

Just how did they mange to make the cloisters arches? it's amazing. It's worth taking a walk along the river or up into the townm especially on Thursday which is markey day.

So to be honest, we were a bit disappointed in Soria city, apart from a few churches, not much to see and not particularly beautiful. But we were glad we ventured down to the riverside and found this place, a real little gem. They've obviously spent time and money sprucing up the riverside area, with what looked like a lovely... Lovely place, not much to see, but full of history. The river next to it had a lovely walk alongside it. and plenty of coffee houses nearby.
