We walked almost all round the island, cutting across the middle to take in the tiny church, and a drink at the Mermaid. Be aware that only the Mermaid and one (very well stocked) gift shop is open in October, as... More

Went across on an early ferry and spent the day on the island. After walking from the landing steps we had a coffee at the Mermaid Tavern. After refreshment we walked up a steep hill to the village and visited the church. We continued our walk to the Shell Beach where we had a sandwich at the beach cafe. After... More

We went to Herm on a Tuesday as we knew that the Graden Tour is only then and we really wanted to take the tour. The Head Gardener did not disappoint. It was a joy to listen to his stories and we learned so much about gardening and the life on Herm Island. If you ever have the chance to... More

Its an educational walk while the colours and smells of the flowers are really refreshing as you stroll through the gardens. I had bought some plants after the tour out of inspiration :)

Brett was our guide, he's trained in gardening and informed on local life as well, Head gardener for Herm. This little island enjoys a very moderate climate and there are lots of interesting plants from more tropical climes. With only 67, maybe 68 today, the garden attractions are the White House gardens, woodland walk and Manor House gardens. I enjoyed... More

The coast of Herm really has it all, from the cliff paths of the south of the island, to the sand dunes in the north, to the stunning golden sandy beaches along the north & eastern sides. There are also rolling fields that are farmed which you can see from the centre of the island, where you'll find a tiny... More

Thinking about returning to Guernsey and read this review of Herm. It brought me back to our visit last year and so I should like to endorse this review of Herm. A walk around Herm is one of total beauty. Around each corner is another breathtaking view. I totally agree with the thoughts of the Caribbean. The sea was absolutely... More
