We visited the wonderful Rottnest Island recently for a family wedding. We arrived on the morning ferry and tried to check in at the information centre only to be met by the rudest customer service person we have ever come across. She was scary. Turns out the island bus doesn't start til 1pm, so we decided to walk to our... More

A very last minute decision to stay overnight when we had tix for the John Farnham concert and couldn't book a return ferry The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the view exceptional looking front row over Longreach.. one of the nicest bays The beds were comfy and the kitchen adequate although we ate at the cafe in the Geordie... We are currently staying in a lodge in Longreach Bay on Rottness Island. We arrived here 2 days ago, having flown in from the UK. This was a planned holiday with our son, his wife and our granddaughter, who live in Perth. The accommodation is ideally situated a short hop from a beautiful beach but looks and feels very tired... Great aqua water colours, very nice beach and some dunes. Close to the Basin etc so easy to get to. It does have cottages on it, so its not a deserted Rotto gem, but provides a nice pit stop or at least nice views whilst cycling the island.

How can such a place be defined luxury accommodation?!?!! Why does it cost $330/night?!?!? I am reviewing unit 816, one of the unit advertised online as refurbished for a TV show and ideal for a luxury escape on the Island. From the description online it seems you are renting an independent villa but it is just a unit part of... More

just over three week since our return from Oz, but the highlight had to be Rottnest Island, and the families preferred beach (Long reach). Crystal clear water, a safe bathing area and wonderful white sands.

Just spent 6 nights over the school hols.we were with 4 other families and had a riot. Ocean was lovely for swimming yet cool enough to bike ride and play tennis etc. Chalets are simple but perfectly adequate except for next time I will take my own pillow and an extra t towel.

Beautiful clear water, unsure how clean as it is effectively a parking lot for motor boats. Not great for snorkelling. Accommodation at this location on the island has great views of the bay.

We spent a weekend on Rottnest Island. It is truly idyllic, with safe swimming, glorious bays, and very safe and family friendly. BUT - the general store closed just before our ferry docked, meaning we couldn't buy supplies until the following day. The store also couldn't give cash back on European debit cards, and there was no ATM there, despite... More

A secluded corner that you need to keep to yourself. Like so many bays on Rottnest, you need to find a way to get there. But take stock from the fact that most visitors have rented a house very close.
