Visited the mini museum that was manned by a nice old lady. Entrance was by a single gold coin. ($1 or $2). Provided a quick introduction of the island.

This little museum was a hidden gem of information about the island. The volunteer was friendly, informative and passionate about the museum. A great place to explore the heritage and culture about the people, flora and fauna on the island.

We visited this quaint museum whilst on Rottnest. We found it interesting and facsinating in relation to the history. It is not large so will not take up a lot of your time. A gold coin entrance fee is recommended and therefore the cheapest cost...More

The Rottnest Museum has a display fostering reconciliation wit Australia's indigenous peoples. Rottnest was a jail for native people, many of whom dies here. The other section of the museum has displays on Rottnest's ecology and so on. Entry is by gold coin donation.

I was absolutely amazed that not anything seemed to have changed in the 15 years since I had been. The museum has massive gaps in the history of the the island. Pretty much nothing there from the 1980s, 90s and 2000s. No pictures of the...More
