About
Explore the ancient wonders of Ngilgi Cave! The Cave is warm in winter and cool in summer. Ngilgi Cave is located just off Caves Road, a short distance north of Yallingup, beneath the limestone ridge which forms Cape Naturaliste. The fascinating association with a rich Aboriginal legend describing the battle between a good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil spirit (Wolgine) gives Ngilgi Cave its name. Explore the cave and experience stunning stalactite, stalagmite, helictite and shawl formations. Visit an interpretive area detailing Ngilgi Cave's interesting history. A cafe, playground, barbecue facilities and walk trails make Ngilgi Cave a fun place to visit for the entire family.

Wonderful experiences with Margaret River region Caves and Lighthouse tours
Jun. 2021
We had wonderful experiences with Margaret River region Caves and Lighthouse tours in June 2021. The staff were very helpful and it showed they loved their jobs, especially Sean at Ngilgi Cave, Holly at Jewel cave, Kira at Cape Naturalist Lighthouse and Sandra at Cape Leeuwin LH.
Their interactions with my wife and I exceeded our expectations, so congratulations to them all!

Great fun but lots of steps.
Researched and booked online so we were well aware of the number of steps to climb down.
Took a five and three year old with us who once they were inside the cave were super excited to explore it by following the steps.
Tour guide gave enough information to self explore and was on hand to answer any questions.
The tunnel proved to be an excellent attraction but after six times down it I (more my knees) had enough. Kids on the other hand did not.
Heed the warnings before going, there are lots of uneven steps, tight areas with low head room, slightly higher CO2 levels and damn in there.
The cave itself is fascinating and a great place to visit.

Awesome Cave
Jun. 2021 • Couples
This is the 6th cave visited in the Margaret River region and perhaps one of the more interesting ones for its depth (over 30 m), narrow passages and the 1 km circuit. An adventure tour which involves crawling through tight spaces is on offer but was not available at the time of visit due to Covid restrictions. For caving enthusiasts this cave offers a good variety of features including stalagmites, stalactites, veils, helictites and beautifully coloured shawls. This cave also has an interesting history with its spiritual link to Aboriginal peoples. This is the first cave attraction in the region open to the public and it is associated with the purpose built Caves Hotel, a heritage listed property located nearby.

The caves were amazing! Enjoyed the scenery & history given from the tour guide. Plenty of stairs to climb, however still a fun day out with teenage kids

Unusual but spectacular.
One of the most unusual caves I've visited. It goes down, down rather down and across. 350 plus steps to the bottom and some very tight sections. But spectacular at the same time. I'm in amazement of what the original guides did. Well worth it. Group numbers are limited and spaced out so you have time to do your own thing after the initial introduction by the guide.

An amazing experience to remember. A 45 minute hike up/down stairs. We had a choice of 2 routes to choose from. Long or short distance. We did both. Highly recommended, 5 stars 😃

Very extensive aell worth a visit
May 2021
Thus is an extensive cave, lots of steps and narrow sections.
Could cut the visit short if didn't want to go all the way to the bottom.
Stunning formations

Beautiful place to visit

Went with family. Loved learning the long history over thousands of years. The caves are brilliant. A bit awkward if you are not nimble of foot but well worth the effort. Caving is great fun!
