Very nice little park that has "daylighted," or exposed, the Saw Mill River as it empties into the Hudson. Big carp swimming around, and they've added colorful lights. They also have a sound-and-light show projected onto the adjacent library at night.

This Hudson River boardwalk has stunning views, a cross-section of local folk (kids on bikes, rich millennials with kids in strollers that cost more than our monthly mortgage check), older couples like us, heavy men talking about off-track betting and the Yankees. It takes less than ten minutes to walk from end to end, and you get to see Hudson... More

This is not a site you expect to see, but when you do, it is quite pretty. From seeing the birds, with their young to the opening of the river that was once covered to hearing the history behind it, it is a nice scene. If visiting the library just across the street, take a quick walk over.

This must be one of the renewal projects I've seen happen in Yonkers NY when I first saw the area after it had been redone I almost thought I was in the wrong area

This a nice place to sit and relax, or take a walk around the river site and look at the different artwork on the ground. Sometimes the Farmers Market be there to sell you fresh vegetables, homemade cookies, cakes and beverages, (usually during the warm weather). And right across from this is the Riverfront Library, and a nearby Pizza restaurant.

Trying to bring back the downtown area of Yonkers is something worth fighting for and with this area its just beautiful, uncovering the water and making that section a park was tops on the list of beautification. Well done to the team who got this up and running.

Van der Donck park is part of the revitalization of downtown Yonkers. It features a daylighted Saw Mill River with interpretative stations along the walkways that explain the ecology of the river. Be sure to see the outdoor classroom with its beautiful tiles depicting indigenous wildlife. Take pictures on the arched bridge. Go during late spring or during the summer... More

This isn't your average park. The park is really the day lighting of part of the Saw Mill River, which is being expanded at this time. You can observe fish and at times turtles in the river. There are native plants alongside of the river. From June to the end of October there is a Farmer's Market every Friday from... More

City park going south from the city pier. Nice boardwalk connecting both, w ample benches along the way. Park is usually kept clean by dpw, but there always some people who do not know what a trash barrel is used for. Cops patrol regularly. Probably one of the best viewing areas for the hudson river and the Palisades
