We had a great time...we actually went two days in a row. Our 4 year old thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and I enjoyed doing it with her. The folks that work at the mine are really great and knowledgeable.

Takes about an hour. You buy your bucket and “pan” for gems. Indoor because of weather, but they also have outdoor flumes. Staff is knowledgeable and can quickly identify gems. No real tour or explanation - an “on your own” kind of place. You can...More

The buckets here had actual gemstones in them and we found two fairly good rubies that were worth keeping. I like the educational aspect this family owned business brought to the adventure of searching for gems. Another plus is the close proximity to the American...More

Was a nice setup with a lot of neat rocks to look at. We went with the biggest bucket so my wife and 2 kids could pan through that. All-in-all was fine. Then we got to the part where we took the rocks inside and...More

They do a great job entertaining the kids. They make sure the kids find gems and then take the time to show and teach what gems were found. they have a nice rock store. They have an indoor trough for those rainy or cold days.

My husband and I had a blast sifting through our buckets and finding beautiful gem stones. We sat at the water trough, scooped the dirt and sediment into our sifter and were instantly metamorphosed from adults scooping dirt to 5 year olds discovering beautiful stones...More

It varies, depending on whether you want the stone just smoothed (cheaper) or cut with facets (more expensive). I had a sapphire facet cut & they did a FABULOUS job.
