I am a professional geologist from Texas and don't often write reviews of places I have visited. I am usually very critical of most rock shops that I visited in my 43 year carrier. I met Doc over the phone about 3 months ago and...More

The staff here is so friendly and knowledgeable. We did both the gem mine and fossil exhibit. The gem mine was a lot of fun. We purchased their largest bucket which was $55.00. This lasted 5 of us a good 20 minutes. After you find...More

Was a fun experience, great staff and very helpful. We got the large bucket and there were a lot of large stones. The gift shop has many stones you can purchase, but was much more fun getting our hands dirty! We had 5 of them...More

Pretty simple premise, a bucket of silt, gravel and rocks, we got the medium bucket for $36, and they set us up on one of their sluices. My 2 year old had a ball playing with the dirt and water, the concept of gems was...More

It varies, depending on whether you want the stone just smoothed (cheaper) or cut with facets (more expensive). I had a sapphire facet cut & they did a FABULOUS job.
