My boyfriend and I are runners, but do not often choose to trail run. I would however recommend these trails for running, as they are well maintained. The surface is mostly packed dirt with few rocks and very few roots or other trip hazards. Really...More

The history of the Cone family was interesting. Very disappointed that there is no furniture in the rooms and that the outside needs painting. The Southern Arts Guild is worth a visit just for their crafts. The US Park Service should restore the space taken...More

Nice historic mansion with lots of history. High end local crafts available for purchase at the entry of the home. You can also walk the grounds. Beautiful Views!

This park is a nice rest point while cruising the parkway. The old mansion is gorgeous and they views from the porch and grounds are beautiful.

Moses Cone is phenomenal. The powers that be have invested some money and the 2nd floor is now open. Use your imagination and think about what it must have been like to visit in it's heyday. Love the truly southern art available for purchase. Nice...More

Very historical and beautiful!! Come with plenty of daylight and good walking shoes so you can enjoy the house and the walk around the lake.

This place is beautiful. The lake offers a .09 loop that is a flat crush and run surface, perfect for a walk or run. Or take the 2 mile hike/walk/run up a gravel road to the Mansion. The view from the Cone Mansion is worth...More

Had a wonderful time staying at Chetola and walking to Bass Lake at Moses Cone park. We drove to the Moses Cone house this year instead of walking because relatives were regretfully unable to make the hike. The house and its surroundings make for some...More

I wouldn't assume that use of a metal detector would be OK. Probably best to call 1st.

The quickest is the Deer Park trail. If you take the Maze toward the Apple Barn and then turn left onto Watkin Road you can also get there, but it is much further.
