Brevard is a quaint and great small town in the mountains of Western North Carolina. It's famed for its white squirrels, which are I think a subspecies of the gray squirrel and not just an albino variant (but don't hold me to that -- I'm...More

The museum isn't especially big and it won't take a ton of time to do, but it is a really great stop for an hour or so. The people who ran the place were extremely nice and we learned a lot about summer camps that...More

Nestled in a little house next to the Post Office in Brevard, the exhibits are varied & interesting. Small children probably wouldn't be entertained but history buffs will like some of the collection (old medical implements!)

Brought back childhood memories. Pat, the director of the museum, was quite informative and a pleasure to talk with. We'll be back for the next exhibit !

Everything looked so beautiful and all the trees took me back to my childhood and seeing these trees at my great grandmothers, great Aunts and mamaw's homes. Christmas was such a grand time when all the family got together.

Loved seeing the trees all lit up and decorated. It reminded me of my childhood when these trees became popular. Enjoyed it very much.

After seeing reviews of 4.5 stars, we drove 80 miles to see this. I was expecting to see vintage ornaments along with the aluminum trees. There weren't many trees, and I didn't see any ornaments from the 50's and 60's. Some Christmas music would have...More

Thank you for visiting our Museum and our current exhibit of aluminum trees. The exhibit has existed since the 1990's and has always featured a whimsical quirky theme for each tree. It is visited by hundreds each year from far and wide. I am sorry...More

This is a sweet little museum, free but asking donations. It gives a very good idea of our county's history. Right now, they are highlighting the areas history of children's camps. A good spot to spend 30-40 minutes, with a few activities for kids, and...More

Some really neat stuff to learn and very nice people to tell you all about the area. It's amazing to learn how much of an impact the local camps have had on the area.
