My husband and I booked a reservation on the Nantahala Gorge Diesel. We were in the first class, Macneill car. Terry was our host. She did an excellent job and was very nice. Lunch was included. I had the cod platter (excellent) and my husband had the pulled pork. Dessert was included. We got free beverages (tea, soda, coffee) and there was... More

We were disappointed in this train ride. It may have been the time of year we went but there was basically no scenery. We had cloudy weather the entire week were there and extended our stay a day to ride the train with out rain and wish we would have just gone home. The train follows the Nantahala River. You... We all had the pulled pork plate (meat not very smoky flavored) had the meat (extra bbq sauce would have been nice), spiced apples, and cole slaw. A... More

Make sure you don't go when they're having a special kids day (Easter); very noisy. All in all, a great experience. Wish the seats had more leg room; cramped in Crown class. Cheap seats face the side of the train & offer more leg room.

we took the Nantahala gorge trip 1st class, and first class for those with no children is what I would highly recommend. the trip was relaxing and very scenic. Our host Steve B. knew so much about the area and was happy to pass on his knowledge to all of us. He kept us entertained with the highlights of and... More

Highly recommend when visiting the area. Peaceful ride across Fontana lake ending at the Natahala Welcome Center and back to Bryson City. Awesome views from train and opportunity to see other side when returning. Drinks and food available with ticket or while in route both ways. I would recommend eating on train or ordering and eating at turnaround as not... More

What a beautiful experience seeing the majestic Smokey Mountains by train! We booked first class accommodations in the McNeill car. It was worth every penny we spent! This was adult only (21 & over) so if you want to escape from the kids, this is great. The cost of the ticket includes a yummy lunch which you get to pick,... More

Took our granddaughters on the Easter Beagle train ride. They loved it!! Well, we all had a great time. The train ride was super fun and our host MJ kept us entertained. Also had numerous visits from the Easter Bunny and some musical entertainment. On the layover in Dillsboro, there was plenty of fun stuff for the kids to do... More

Absolutely beautiful train ride. This was our second trip and it was just as good as the first. We seat in first class 21+ car, had a lunch with desert and beverage service. Try the railroad Relaxer it was very good and no taste of alcohol which is always a plus. Please shop at this location for a great time.... More
