Good for meeting new people

There's always something happening on Franklin Street. I lived in Chapel Hill for 2 years. Great place to find good food or just grab Starbucks and take a walk on campus.

I guess we are just lovers of the past but 40 years ago it was so charming and now it is just like every other over built , bar filled, t-shirt shop downtown.

Chapel Hill's Franklin Street has something for everyone: lots of stores, eateries (both casual and fine dining), and great people-watching. Plus, you are on one of the most beautiful campuses in the country (UNC). Some highlights: Top of the Hill restaurant and bar; Time Out (famous for its fried chicken and cheddar biscuit sandwich and featured on the TV show... More

I love the old charm of the movie theatre. It's great that they offer family movies as well as other movies.

The shops close early!!! Some cute boutiques with high to average prices and trendy items, lots of places to eat and of course everywhere seems to connect you to the UNC campus - which is also a lovely stroll Very much a college town and truly lovely to walk around Some good places for coffee, food. Snacks, or drinks! Would... More

What an awasome street that seems to have something for everyone. It has friendly people, great restaurants with great food, breweries (some of the best), bars, shops, all within walking distance of UNC.

For a small downtown, Franklin Street has an amazing number of diverse restaurants as well interesting shops. I have never seen anything quite like it. It is also the entrance to the UNC campus. Beyond the area with stores are some beautiful old houses.

Great walking along browsing shops, picking up souvenirs and taking detours onto campus amongst the talk trees, old statues and familiar buildings with new titles. Miss this place

Get rid of the commercial chain restaurants/stores, add more local speciality shops, bakeries, - no need to add any more restaurants- more than enough to choosed from but every day shopping for clothes, gifts, fun items etc.., needs to be greatly added- a BIG MISS!

Nice area. Lots of college kids and couples walking around and jogging. We drove through site seeing because it was chilly.
