We thoroughly enjoyed strolling the campus and visiting the Ackland, the old Library (OK, the exhibits were lame), the arboretum, and the Visitors center. And when the tour guide cancelled out of our 3 PM historic tour, Sarah was kind enough to find us and...More

Great place to visit. Beautiful campus with old historic buildings dating back to the 1800’s, famous sports facilities, theatre and art centers, and a first class planetarium. A perfect spot for walking and jogging.

We walked through and drive through quite a bit if the campus. It's is a nice campus. Spread out and more if a city campus than a large quad type of campus. Beautiful athletic facilities. Not quite Ivy League though.

For complete transparency, I have travelled to UNC multiple times for collegiate competition AGAINST Uncle. However, it is a beautiful, friendly, accessible campus. It is beautifully kept and it is near food, entertainment, bookstores, unique shops...and the climate...wow!

It was a great opportunity to return to Chapel Hill and visit with college friends. We returned to places that were there during college days and experienced new venues, also. Still wonderful, after all those years!

Was down in Chapel Hill on business and decided to take a look around the campus. This place is huge. There is no 'strolling' around like on some other town schools. This is a school you get in the car and drive around, or even...More

I love my graduate school campus. Seriously, I have to walk through it constantly, and I STILL insist that any out-of-towners come for a walking tour to see the gorgeous school buildings and greenspaces. It's easily walkable, and you can hop over to Franklin Street...More

What a buzz when on campus. Great school to visit but holy cow to get a t shirt at a decent price can't be done. Gift Shops are a rip off!

It's the oldest public university in the US, filled with history and legends. This 1 square mile campus is a good walk with much to see. Whether you take the tour or not...just look at the historic buildings or take a good luck drink from...More

I want to add one more thing - shopping for your son's "domestic" needs, etc. I imagine you will purchase most items on arrival like most from "out of area." There is little shopping in Chapel Hill/Franklin Street walking... More
