Highly recommended for the shows, not so much for the seating, which was apparently designed by the same person who designs the cheap seats for airlines. I am talking about Playmakers Kenan Theatre.

Playmakers, part of UNC-Chapel Hill, is a professional theater company that integrates students, instructors and guest artists to offer theater that is almost always very well done and occasionally quite interesting. Some years the program has seemed gloomy and dark but the last couple of...More

Live, intimate theater with professional actors as well as graduate students in the Professional Theater Program. I've seen performances here that were actually better than the performances at Durham Performing Arts Center by Broadway casts. Here you are much closer to the stage (there are...More

We've had season tickets to Playmakers for years and years. Rarely, very rarely are we disappointed with their productions. So glad this is a part of our community!

This was our second visit to PlayMakers, and we were again pleased. This time we saw their production of Miller's adaptation of Ibsen's "Enemy of the People." Originally written over 130 years ago, it is still so relevant today. We really enjoyed this wonderful and...More

Saw "Into the Woods" recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Quality on the same level as the professional shows at DPAC at a smaller, more intimate setting. Seating arranged so no bad seat in the house. And free parking on a Saturday night in the deck!!

This theater offers truly wonderful performances that are priced just right. The caliber of the productions are professional, outstanding and diverse. The theater is located scenically on UNC Campus. The theaters are of a more intimate size and several theater styles. Great / close viewing...More
