Located in what was the original branch of the United States Mint, Mint...

Located in what was the original branch of the United States Mint, Mint Museum Randolph opened in 1936 in Charlotte’s Eastover neighborhood as the state’s first art museum. Today, in a beautiful park setting, intimate galleries invite visitors to engage with the art of the ancient Americas, ceramics and decorative arts, fashion, European and African art, among other collections. Resources include a reference library with over 18,000 volumes, a theater featuring lectures and performances, and a museum shop offering merchandise that complements both the permanent collection and special exhibitions.

The exhibits were very fun and approachable with just the right amount of casualness and size that lets someone like me with a short attention span, take it all in. To keep the kids occupied and educated, they have bags in each room with a "find the piece of art" that the kids find and read about. This particular museum... More

For a tiny museum on the edges of the city it's well worth the afternoon. The exhibits range from local history, geology and nature, to a larger over view of the continent. The front yard is wide and grassy to sit and enjoy the large trees and flower gardens.

As I looked up attractions in Charlotte, I came across the Mint Museum. I was even more excited to go because of the Fashion exhibit. The museum looks small and parking is limited, but inside there was a great collection of items. I went on a weeknight when they are open until 9pm. It was perfect because there weren't large... We went to see a particular exhibit and ended up seeing several. The museum has great collections, well displayed. We were there on a Wednesday morning and had whole galleries to ourselves - a boon since we wanted to read every single description and look at the items from several angles. Arrive early, take your time and enjoy the lovely... More

This was a good little museum. a nice variety of items but not so much that it takes hours to go through. Hubby likes to look at EVERY item. The park adjoining it is beautiful and great for a stroll pre or post museum visit,or a place to sit and just be. There was a wedding about to happen when... More

The Mint Museum is one of the very best we have visited. I would highly recommend it. We took our family visiting from the UK, they loved it. Take your time, don't miss a thing.
