Great place for all outdoor activities. Enjoy the fall foliage during the colder months. It gets hot and humid during summer :)

The lake was as always beautiful and serene. We got to watch an amazing fireworks show from many of the other residents and visitors to the lake. Wish I had my own place!

Very beautiful scenery but if you are planning to swim here I would not recommend it along the shoreline. It's very muddy red clay like water once you step in. Best place to swim here is to have a boat, go out as far as...More

We live really close to the lake and we go out every chance we can. Lots of bars and restaurants you can pull your boat into. Lots of rental places for visitors. Love all the events that goes on around the lake.

Had the chance to go on the lake with some friends while visiting Charlotte. It's the biggest lake in North Carolina and just gorgeous. Saw an osprey nest and the babies while on the lake.

Try Airbnb or VRBO if you are looking to rent a house. If you specifically want something right on the water make sure and specify that in your search. Good luck, and enjoy! It's a beautiful place!

There are no trains or other public transportation from Charlotte to the Lake. It's about 20 miles. You would need to rent a car for flexibility.
