This museum is well run, innovative in their programs and exhibits, and not to be missed. Off the beaten path, but well worth the trip out there.

Have been several times and plan to go again soon. Love the 'spring house' and the home is amazing. They used to have a really nice gift shop but have had to cut back over the years. Recommend to everyone for an enjoyable journey into our past! I actually visited five years ago but they didn't have that option

We went to the first of a series of teas related to British history and were delighted. We saw lots of intriguing things that make us want to go back and spend more time.

This is a nice museum with a modern building and a historic house. Requires some walking. The modern displays have a lot of reading and not that many artifacts. Guide was knowledgeable.

We took our grandchildren to a free day. They had people dressed up for a special presentation. They had kid activities,a tour of the house and yards and free ice cream.

Living in Charlotte for the past 21 years I had never been to this museum, but it's nice. The museum traces the history of Charlotte and features the city's oldest house. The docent did a great job, and he was very patient with my questions that were more about historical specifics.

There is free parking. As one enters the museum, there is a 3-D map showing the area. Those providing the commentaries are dressed in the time period of which they speak. The first original three story stone home of Hezikiah Alexander's in Mecklenburg County is preserved for your touring experiment. One is able to actually see and feel how those... More
