We took the Light Rail downtown and visited the site. We were excited about going because of all the things we had heard about this place. Unfortunately there were only two exhibits open that day leaving us very disappointed. We did get a discount on...More

While in Charlotte, I stopped by the Harvey B Gantt museum. The large building sits on the corner. There were three exhibits showcased — civil rights pictures in a dark room in which cool glasses with lights were provided by the front desk; different generations...More

Were just visiting friends in the area and decided to have a quick look round Charlotte, $5 entry each only for this interesting centre. Some great artwork and photography and a video/audio exhibition gave us a good couple of hours entertainment

This museum is housed in a very modern building and it rotates exhibits on a fairly regular basis. We saw a photography one on oppression and another featuring black men sharing their thought on what it is to be black. Both very interesting!

This gallery is located in a beautiful building, but it doesn't have much to offer. There are only two floors and only one has an exhibit, which is totally dark where you have to use a flashlight to see the works.

Informative. The pictures in the dark room were very moving. Pictures depicting desegregation, the first black girl going to an all white school. The gift shop had some cute things to buy.

This was our second visit since last year and offered totally different exhibitions. All were excellent with different themes and a wide and varying representation of African-American art and artists. On this visit, the gift shop was being re-stocked, but the young woman at the...More

Nice gallery with informative and unique exhibits, $9 entry per adult. If you prefer more interactive art this isn't the best gallery but it's still nice!

It's not exactly what I expected, I think I expect more but overall this was a very nice gallery. Great work up on the walls. Just expected to see more history paintings or artifacts. The staff was freely. Very nice visit!

I took my cousins here when they visited from out of town. A beautiful facility and we enjoyed the exhibits. I also learned that there are EVENTS at this location. It's not likely I'll attend any since I only go downtown when family is visiting....More
