Ok, my opinion is that it isn't a big draw but worth a visit if you happen to be in the area. First of all, what is the Fourth Ward? It's a small residential neighborhood containing many charming wooden early last century homes, a few apartment blocks from about the same time, tony recent condominium towers and row homes -... Could end have asked for a better stroll through a park & over 20 historic homes, beutifuuly preserved in uptown. The city is gem but you felt you took a step back in time. We brown bagged a great lunch from 7th street market and enjoyed the homes, natures & quiet on this nice December day. So many parked &... More

Was in town for the weekend and my son lives in Fourth Ward. We walked from his condo around the area and it is lovely. It's close to all the attractions in the Uptown area including many parks and restaurants...the stadiums. Maybe I'll move here too! ;)

I LOVE this neighborhood. It used to be such a dive and was so run down and someone got it in their minds to revitalize the whole area. And now it's some of my favorite architecture in the town. I love the purple house, personally. And any of the huge homes with porches. It's made to look historical even if... More

We were fortunate to have a weekend in Charlotte and took a segway tour to all the wards along our adventure. Each of them offered a lovely private park feel. Great job making such a beautiful city keep a part like atmosphere.

Visited as part of a Segway tour. Unexpected historic area with various eras of buildings. I may return for the Christmas tour of homes in December.

Lovely area around a park. Homes were either new, upscale townhomes or stately mansions from the 1800's, many of which were renovated or had been moved to the area. There was a pamphlet with descriptions of the homes that you could use to do a self guided walking tour. The area was very pleasant and unique.

We visited Charlotte in early September and found this area. It is a great place for a stroll/jog, with lovely homes in a quiet neighborhood.
