Absolutely loved it. Didn't expect too much, Cherokee is kind of ran down, and it's a bunch of touristy crap. I was blown away. I wouldn't recommend this for kids, there's A LOT to read, and nothing to really stimulate them, and they'll get restless, teenagers would do okay perhaps. Highly recommend to any adult passing through. I definitely learned... More

Whether you are a history buff, or just want to learn a little more about the Cherokee heritage, you will enjoy this interactive museum. The displays include the history of the tools and weaponry, the arts, games and crafts as well as many murals and photos of the Cherokee Indians throughout history. There is an extensive collection of artifacts, and... More

We visited the Cherokee, NC, area for a long weekend in mid February. Before we went to the Casino, we visited the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. This is a wonderful museum and provides an accurate description of the history of the Cherokee Indian, and their culture. The displays and artifacts are interesting and educational. Reserve at least an hour... More

This museum was very interesting and beautifully presented. And the air conditioning was a plus for a hot day. The museum was laid out as a walk through the history of the Cherokee Indian and was fascinating. The many artifacts were well lit and the displays were close enough to be able to see the amazing detail of the items,... More

A really informative and neat place to visit. I wouldn't recommend taking small kids they were board. It was very informative for my husband to see his heritage and the bears all around town are neat also. It was priced well and I would recommend it to anyone especially people into Native American History.

A walk through the museum that cost $11 for adults when we went in December 2016. You learn about the history of the Cherokee Indians, leaders, weapons, their relationship to the colonists/British during the American Revolutionary War, their role in the civil war. Very informative and takes approximately 40 to 60 minutes to walk through. That is assuming you are... More
