I have always wanted to visit the covered bridge and what better time to do it but the fall. My granddaughter and I throughly enjoyed the color of the leaves and the bridge itself. The facility was closed while we were there. There were flyers...More

I had not been to the covered bridge in probably 40 plus years. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has changed little. More graffiti and a different place to park but still beautiful. Signs pointing to the bridge would be nice. It can...More

I’ve stopped here a few times on my way through. The bridge is gorgeous all year long, and it’s a peaceful place to visit.

Stopped here to see the second of two remaining covered bridges in North Carolina, the other being Pisgah Covered Bridge in Asheboro. It is worth stopping to see if you are in the area.

Level walk back to bridge. Good for dogs. A few signs explaining history. Paths go off but didn't walk them. No bathroom or center. Just the bridge.

This is a beautiful little park with a nice walk to a covered bridge. It’s not spectacular but it was clean and well kept. A good place for a family outing. Parking seems limited.

Stopped at the covered bridge on my way to Hickory. It’s not something you can make a full day out of, but definitely worth the stop if you’ll be passing through. Good spot for a picnic as there are tables. Bring a camera. Head to...More

Well preserved structure & a fine example of the old bridges of that time that were built from rough hewn lumber. Wooden pegs were used to fasten the pieces together & can be seen throughout the structure.

A regular stop for local school children for 50 yrs, this attraction has seen major improvement in recent years. A real glance back in history and also the subject of area artist. Fall visits are especially nice and offer great photo ops. Also after winter...More

Go for a stroll, learn about the bridge, wade in the creek, and be sure to take lots of pictures. This is one of my favorite places to go and relax, and it's free!

I don’t know but the Catawba County Historical Association are the ones that care for it. Check with them. It would be a pretty place for a small wedding.

No it is not a very long walk. I have taken my elderly mom there. She did fine even with a cane. The walk in the past is shorter than it once was. Great place for a picnic

It must be because the owners of the Bunker Hill Farm (in 1895) were asked to help build and maintain the bridge. If I built a bridge I would want my name on it too. :-)
