The Carolina Theatre hosts my favorite film festival, Nevermore, every February. If you love "horror, science fiction, dark fantasy, animation, mystery/suspense, and action-thrillers" then you should definitely check it out.

As an Indie film lover, I visit The Carolina Theater often and consider it to be a gem in the heart of thriving downtown Durham. In addition to the usual concessions, they serve beer, wine, and popcorn with real butter! The building itself is charming...More

What a beautiful theater. Classic elegance; very nicely restored. Orchestra seating was roomy and comfortable. Nice size, so no seats are that far from the stage. Saw Squeeze play here live. The acoustics were terrific.

We enjoyed a great show here, and sightlines and sound were fine. If you have folks with you who have mobility impairments, however slight, strongly consider orchestra-level seats. Balconies are accessible by large elevators, but to get up to the seats themselves requires rather steep...More

Just saw Joe Jackson here last night. It's a quaint little place, accoustics were good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that concessions close a bit early so I couldn't get more water not could I find a water...More

We attended the Zombies concert here last evening. The staff is unfailingly polite. The venue, however, seems not to have been renovated in any meaningful way since it was built in 1929. We were in the first balcony and the seating there is something less comfortable...More

I had a chance to see one of my favorite musicians at this beautiful, historic theatre. I was so impressed by it. Even though I had a nosebleed seat, it sounded like I was up front. It's a nice intimate venue for music and shows.

Good concerts here, but leg room makes airplane coach seem spacious. Will not come back. I am 5 ft 8 and cannot sit with my knees together.

Great place for a concert. Small and intimate, yet full of enthusiasm. My wife and I went to see Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes which were great and the venue made it even better.

I am not sure what that means. Suggest you call the theater box office directly.
