We love to take a picnic and ride this ferry. Gets the kids out of the house and enjoying the water. There are picnic tables on both sides of the river. Best part is that its free.

This is a wonderful ferry. I ride this ferry often and sometimes in the summer evenings my husband and I will take the ferry to Cherry Brand and will turn around and take it back to Minnesota Beach. It is a great 20 minute ride!

The North Carolina Ferry system is an American treasure, and the ride from Cherry Point to Minnesott Beach is another adventure. A smaller ferry than the one between Ocracoke Island and the Outer Banks serves this route. We were greeted at Cherry Point by a...More

At least once a month a ferry ride to shoot the seagulls is on my calendar. When the weather turns warmer and a waterproof bag is protecting the camera I will shoot in the rain for a different look.

The Cherry Branch Minnesott ferry is, for the most part, a very reliable means of getting from Craven county to Pamlico County without having to drive around the Neuse River - it cuts considerable time off of the trip - and you are riding while...More

Free ferry! Quick trip, beautiful views. Favorite time to go is the winter. We go out of our way to take this ferry. You can usually get right on and not have to wait, runs every 30 minutes.

According to the ncdot website, the Minnesott ferry runs every day from 5:00 am to 12:30 (after midnight). There is a departure from each side of the river every 30 minutes, for the 20 minutes ride.
