We visited on a cool fall morning. They had a roaring fire going in the fireplace and heaters over the flumes. So many things to see. There were raw gems & fossils all the way to beautiful pieces of jewelry. Kids had a blast looking for gems and collecting treasures.

Late Fall and Winter are great times to visit Elijah Mountain. Indoor mining, out of the elements of weather, is not only fun but unique! Our staff loves making the fire each day before guests arrive. Thank you and hope to see you again! More

We came with our 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter and got the big green bucket for $60. We had never done this before, so they showed us how to filter the sand and gave us a picture guide of gemstones we might find. The lady on staff there took the time to go through the several... More

my kids loved it so much! The lady there was super nice, and we are definitely going there again! The lady gave both of my kids a free geod! It is very family friendly! They also have goats in the corner of the room. I would definitely rate this place five star!!!!!!!!!

Love this family place it's so much fun to look around great selections of crystals from jewelry to skulls, many cool items and quirky stuff too. The mining is in or Out, which is important to my need to not be cold. The buckets are plenty stocked with colorful stones. Chrysocolla, amethyst and larimar to name a few.

My daughter loves coming here to mine for gems and always leaves with a bag of gems and a smile. She insisted on having her birthday party there and as always, it was great. They made it easy for us and very accommodating. No booking fees. Gave them the date and start time and that was it. Payed for each... More

This was the first time taking my 2.5 yr old son mining for gems. He may have been a little young, but he didn't get too excited. It could have been because we got the cheapest pail and he didn't get many great things. It also only took like 10 minutes. We spent $1 on a rock that he loves... More

You can buy buckets that are 'seeded' with stones. This is an easy way to see if you have gem fever. Kids would be over the moon for this experience. If you are a serious gem hunter this is not the place. We had a great time as our first experience, Joe is accommodating, attentive and friendly.

Our entire vacation to Hendersonville was to take our children and grandkids gem mining. Each family got a bucket and we had a blast sifting through the mine dirt. We then had the employees look through our finds and tell us what we found. A lot of jasper, but some amethysts, rubies, emeralds, and some sapphire. Wonderful time and we... More
