Gems that are found daily include Rubys, Sapphires, Emeralds, Quartz crystals, Citrine, Amethyst, Garnets, Adventurine, Sodalite, Opal, Fluorite, Aquamarine and many more! Our flumes are covered for your comfort and for rain or shine mining! You can even bring a picnic and relax at one of our picnic tables or by the creek! Small but epic place. Lots of gems and items for sale. Mine your own buckets of dirt. Great and educational fun for kids or anyone who loves gems and discovery.

the people who work there are amazing, let my 3 yr old son help feed the goats which he loved, we had fun mining for our gems very affordable and great fun for people of all ages

My family came down from Atlanta and had always wanted to do mining so I took them here and they absolutely loved it!!! The employees were very helpful in identifying all of our stones and their gift shop has amazing gems and fossils. Best part...More

Hello! I don't know of any NC gem mines that let you use a pick axe. Maybe Hiddenite but finds are rare. Most people there use backhoes. Good luck with the search.
